    The Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department has four pieces of equipment manned by 25 volunteers. The ambulance is serviced and maintained by EMT and First Response Crews. For emergencies, please dial 911.

    Churches

    The United Methodist Church and St. Lawrence Catholic Church provide weekly services, religious instructions and offer monthly meetings of church service groups to Silver Creek and the surrounding area.

    Government

    Silver Creek is governed by a village board consisting of a Chairman and four Trustees. The Board meets the third Monday of each month at the Village Hall. The Merrick County Planning Commission, located in the county court house at Central City, administers all community zoning and planning regulations.

    Housing Authority

    The Silver Creek Housing Authority owns and operates 12 low income units for the elderly and four units for low income families. Phone 308-773-2530 for more information.

    Library

    The Silver Creek Library, 308-773-2594, has many books and publications. Library hours are Monday thru Friday, 2-5 p.m.

    Recycling Center

    Silver Creek Recycling accepts cardboard, tin cans, aluminum cans, No. 1 and No. 2 plastic. The center, located next to the fire hall, is open daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
